"It happened the first time
I really "saw" a black and
white picture. I became
obsessed with photography. I
just didn't exactly know how
to go about being an
"actual" photographer. When
I finally saved up enough
money to buy a slrcamera, I
started shooting like a mad
woman. It wasn't long until
I realized that it wasn't
the "posed" pictures that I
was most inspired by, it was
the unexpected shots. The
ones no one know were being
taken. They had so much raw
emotion to them. I really
began to experiment on my
daughter, and anyone else
who would pacify me. Then of
course I became "the"
photographer amongst my
friends and family. Over the
past year, I have interned
with an amazing woman who
has introduced me to the
world of wedding
photography. What an amazing
experience his has been. The
emotions and beauty of
sharing this most important
day with thesse families is
awe inspiring It has brought
my vision of photography to
a whole new level and I am
excited to be in such an
exciting new field of work.
Thank you for taking the
time to read what is one of
the most important parts of
me.

For as long as I can
remember I have had a
passion for photography. As
a kid I would flip through
my family photo albums,
absorbing the details of
each image and trying to
contemplate the rest of the
world that extended beyond
their borders.
I took my first photography
class during my junior year
in high school. It was the
first time in my life that I
had been given the freedom
to find “the answer” to “a
problem” on my own, and
there were infinite
possibilities for the
“right” answers. That is
what I love about
photography….the infinite
freedom.
I draw my inspiration from
many sources, but mostly I
just go with anything that
gravitates my senses. I try
to avoid speeding through
life and devote the time to
explore the essence of my
surroundings. I find rapture
in the simplistic beauty of
nature, but I also elate in
the chaotic energy of a big
city. My work is aimed to
capture that beauty and
energy, channeling it to
evoke an emotion in the
viewer. My only hope is that
each viewer will take that
emotion….good or bad….and do
something positive with it.

Artist Biography
Jennifer Lee Robinson
Born on 28 February 1976 in
Seattle, Washington
Growing up in the small town
of Bonney Lake, I developed
a passion for art of every
kind at a young age. I have
been influenced most by my
father’s photography &
masonry, my mother’s music &
dance, my grandmother’s
paintings & cooking, and my
grandfather’s drawings.
I have a zest for life and
tend to find the beauty in
everything that surrounds
me, no matter how negative
it may be. I try to convey
what moves and inspires me
the most by gathering every
aspect of life, compressing
it into a single moment that
can be captured on a piece
of film. From Mother Nature
to seeing a person’s soul
cry out through their eyes,
my motive is to share that
beauty with others around
me. I truly believe that if
one can have the courage to
look around them with an
open mind and a loving
heart, they can find the
true happiness we all long
for.
